I am a care taker for the state of CA and I am having problems getting any help for a woman with dementia.?
Her family insists it is my job to help her and they don't want to get involved. She is in a senior building and the staff will not do anything to help. Of course she insists nothing is wrong. She is constantly talking about her neighbor, she believes he is satan and says this illegal. She calls the police on him several times a week. She is also convinced someone is coming into her room and taking things, even though she never leaves and the security cameras have not picked up anyone even approaching her door. I have tried to convince her that these things are not happening, but I cannot reassure her in any way. Also, a different neighbor is purchasing alcohol for her after my shift ends and frequently she is involved in altercations after she drinks. Does anyone have any advice on how to help her? I don't mind dealing with the problems she has, but the management of her building is getting fed up. Any advice? Thanks!
