Why do my pictures keep getting messed up when I put them online?

When I transfer pictures from my camera to my computer they keep getting messed up and have like strips of red, green, and blue and it like takes the picture and I guess you could say it looks like they cut it into squares and put them so they aren't in order.. Is this because of my camera and is there a way to fix it? Please help me I need to use my camera now!
