Every once in a while, my FIOS onscreen called ID stops working?

The only way to get it working again is to call Verizon repair. He called it reconnecting the boxes or refresh port mapping. The failure mostly occurs after a power failure or change in service. I am looking for advanced DIY repairs from a computer(192.168.1.1) The in current version of the home agent does not have a repair for onscreen caller ID. Also, I tried and deleted the VIS, but it still shows up in the in home agent. How do I get rid of that notice. I am very happy with the free version from microsoft called security essentials. Caller ID on the phones always works. Remember, I want to repair this all the time without calling anybody.
