Powerfull cheap BBgun or Air gun for self Defence at home?

I am looking for a cheap price and I love in England so I am not sure about hate laws on BB guns I want a power full BB Gun or Air soft gun but I want it to be a pistol I want it to be strong enouth to stop a robber in his tracks if hit by it.
